ABC has announced the first celebrities who will be contestants on the new The Celebrity Dating Game series.
Joining the show are former Bachelorette lead Hannah Brown, Broadway star Taye Diggs, and rapper Iggy Azalea.
The Celebrity Dating Game is a spinoff of The Dating Game, a popular game show from the 1960s and ’70s.
According to ABC, “The Celebrity Dating Game offers a wry wink at modern dating with a star-studded roster of celebrity singles from television, music, comedy, reality TV and feature film in their pursuit to find love,” as it offers “the same iconic feel as the original classic dating show.”
The show will be hosted by New Girl star Zooey Deschanel and Grammy winner Michael Bolton.
There will be eight hour-long episodes focusing on a pair of celebrities who will each pick one lucky suitor from a hidden panel of three potential lovers.
However, there’s a twist! Celebrities’ identities will remain a mystery to their suitors and they will be given clues via parody song performances from Bolton.
In an interview, Bolton told Entertainment Tonight, “Hannah Brown is one of the guests. I wound up, at one point, singing, ‘I found someone. She’s from Tuscaloosa. She was on The Bachelorette.”
Bolton also teased that Brown’s current beau, Adam Woolard, might make an appearance on the show.
As for the other celebs, Azalea broke things off with rapper, Playboi Carti back in October 2020, and Diggs ended his marriage with Frozen star Idina Menzel in 2014.
Witness Hannah, Taye, and Iggy try to find their perfect match when The Celebrity Dating Game premieres on Monday, June 14 on ABC.
