Earlier this week, Adam Levine got fans’ attention when he walked on a red carpet alongside his wife in Miami with a new tattoo. While many shouldn’t be shocked about Levine adding yet another tattoo to his already extensive body art, this tattoo was unexpected because of its location: his face. The “Maroon 5” lead singer showcased his new black rose tattoo near his left eye.
He is well-known for his tattoo collection and often debuts his tattoos through social media posts. Fans are not usually shocked to see him with new ink, however, the tattoo on his face was unexpected since he had never been seen with a face tattoo before.
It appears the fake tattoo could be inspired by his 5-year old daughter, Dusty Rose, or his recently launched tequila brand. Earlier this year, Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, launched Calirosa Tequila. Unlike typical tequila, Levine’s creation is aged in red wine barrels to give the liquor a subtle, rose-pink tint.
Fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts and mixed opinions about Levine’s rose. After sparking attention and confusion, Levine addressed his followers on Instagram, “This message is for my mother: I do not have a tattoo on my face,” he said. “I’m too f***ing vain to get a tattoo on my face. I’ll tattoo the rest of this, but no, the face has got to stay the same.”
In October, Levine added a butterfly trapped in a web to his neck, and even though he says he won’t tattoo his face, fans should expect to see more tattoos on other areas of his body soon.
