While Amy Schumer is usually the one joking around, her husband Chris Fischer turned the tables on her for the comedian’s 40th birthday.
Schumer turns 40 on Tuesday. She spent memorial day weekend with her friends and family and shared one of the more comedic moments on Instagram.
While being serenaded to the traditional “Happy Birthday” song, Fischer gave his wife a chocolate frosted cake with a message: “I’m leaving you. This was the only way I could think to do it.”
Thankfully, he knows his wife and Schumer thought it was hilarious. The two have gone through a lot together lately raising their 2-year-old son without child care. Sharing some moments of levity on social media.
“Yeah, actually, like we were worried about not having childcare but we’re actually like doing really well,” Schumer said in a post from the middle of a dirty kitchen.
It’s no surprise the couple is so comfortable poking fun at each other as Schumer’s career has been built on jokes, and often saying what other people just won’t. While family clearly matters to the comedian, everyone in that family is bound to be the butt of the joke at some point. Even her two-year-old son Gene David.
A comedian’s life isn’t all jokes, though. Schumer has been incredibly frank about some of the challenges her family has faced throughout her life and career.
