Backstreet Boys on the red carpet

Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC Join Forces For an Unforgettable Performance

One thing is official, we can finally say Bye Bye Bye boy band rivalry of the late ’90s and early 2000s, because it was announced that Backstreet Boys members Nick Carter and AJ McLean collaborated with *NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Lance Bass to create everyone’s dream boy band: Back-Sync.

Celebrating pride month, the group hosted Bingo Under The Stars at The Grove for an evening of fun and music. Back-Sync performed popular songs from each of the boy groups, including the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.” Not only did the guys sing each other’s mega hits, they even learned each group’s signature dance moves.

In a TikTok video released Bass’s profile, fans can watch McLean and Carter learning the choreography to the hit “Bye Bye Bye.: The singer captioned the video saying, “Teaching members of @backstreetboys the #byebyebye dance is a trip.”

This performance has fans wondering if there’s going to be more Back-Sync in the future. Here is what McLean had to say on the future of this collab.

In a video released on TikTok, McLean said, “(Friday) night was our first performance hopefully of many as ‘Back-Sync. I want to thank my brother Nick Carter and my two adopted brothers, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass.”

McLean told PEOPLE, “Back in the day, before there was social media, the press and media had to pit us against each other. Just to be able to do something like this together hopefully squashes all that crap that was never true in the first place. This is about coming together.”

Back-Sync is open to more members joining in.

“The more the merrier,” McLean told Variety. “Fans still want a Backstreet/*NSYNC tour, but it’s got to be all 10 of us. It’s the only way to make it work, so I think he’d [Bryan Littrell] be sleeping on it if he didn’t do it, but he’s a dad doing his thing and I completely respect that. This four is a dream team right now.”

The original members of Backstreet Boys included McLean, Carter, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell, while NSYNC included Fatone, Bass, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick.
