Britney Spears posted a video to Instagram on Friday answering fan questions ranging from her favorite business trip (Italy) to her shoe size (size 7).
But when a fan asked if she is ready to take the stage again, Spears gave a less definitive answer.
“The question is, ‘Am I ready to take the stage again, am I gonna take the stage again, will I ever take the stage again?” she said. “I have no idea. I’m having fun right now. I’m in a transition in my life and I’m enjoying myself. So. That’s it.”
Spears hasn’t performed live since 2018.
However, her name has made a recent surge in the news as her loyal fans started a #FreeBrittney campaign following the release of an FX documentary titled Framing Brittney Spears.
Spears has a conservatorship hearing on June 23 that is part of the ongoing legal battle with her father, Jamie Spears.
In a November 2020 hearing, Spears lawyer Samuel D. Ingham II said, “My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”
Spears, now 39, has since moved to remove her father as her conservator. Spears has requested a status hearing from the court so that she can address the court directly.
