Rumors have been swirling around former Friends co-stars David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston, who some online have speculated are dating.
These rumors were prompted by a tabloid report by Closer posted earlier this week, which included quotes from a supposed source. One such quote read: “After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there. They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA.”
However, it appears that these events were misconstrued, as Schwimmer has now come forward to say he and Aniston are not a couple. There is “no truth” to these rumors, he told The Sun.
The pair have admitted to having feelings for each other in the past. “We were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing. One of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary,” said Schwimmer during the Friends reunion special.
Aniston added her thoughts, speaking on how the pair lived out their feelings for each other through their on-screen characters. “Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”
For the time being, it seems clear that the pair have either moved on from their past feelings or, at least, have never acted on them.
