Modern Family actor and comedian Eric Stonestreet popped the question this weekend to his longtime love and now fiancée, Lindsay Schweitzer.
The couple has been dating since 2017 after meeting at the June Big Slick charity event in Kansas City the year prior.
Stonestreet posted a series of photos with Schweitzer showing off her new ring and joked that “She said, ‘She’d have her people call my people.'”
The two-time Emmy-winning actor used his acting skills for good in his Instagram announcement. Schweitzer can be seen beaming in all three photos, but Stonestreet’s facial expressions change drastically.
The first photo shows the actor clutching the pediatric nurse’s hand to his chest with an expression of worry on his face. In the second, he is seen smiling at her with his hand around her back, while in the third photo, Stonestreet’s mouth is slightly open and animated while he points to the diamond on her finger.
The happy couple received congratulations for the engagement from many friends, family, and other celebrities.
Buffalo Bills player Jordan Devey commented, “I’m so freaking happy for you two!!!!!” and Zachary Levi said, “Congrats duuuuuuuuuuude!!! 🥰🙌”
Makeup artist Bobbi Brown even offered up her services for the future ceremony.
“So awesome. I’ll be there to get the bride ready. And the groom ❤️,” she wrote.
This will be the 49-year-old actor’s first marriage.
When their relationship was announced, Stonestreet gushed about how Schweitzer was able to calm him when he became too high-strung and that, “they are very happy to have met each other.”
