The Real Housewives of Orange County is adding Heather Dubrow to the cast for the upcoming season 16 of the Bravo reality series!
Meanwhile, previous cast members Kelly Dodd, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas are all exiting the show.
Former Housewife Heather Dubrow is returning to the franchise after she left the show in 2017 after five seasons. She will join current cast members Shannon Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson, along with new housewives who haven’t been announced quite yet.
Dubrow quickly became a fan-favorite when she first joined the RHOC cast on season 7. The show chronicled her life with her four kids and her husband, Terry Dubrow.
Dubrow talked to Andy Cohen about why she decided to come back on RHOC on her latest episode of the Heather Dubrow’s World podcast.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Cohen said, “It just is a testament to kind of everything at the right time. I think the viewers want it, the show is at a crossroads right now, we have some rebuilding to do, and I think that it’s just interesting. I think when you left the show, you were at a place where you were really over it. You just weren’t into it.”
Dubrow said that her kids played a big part in her return on the show years later.
“Now, things are a little bit different. My family’s in a different place, my kids are a little bit older, the pandemic has sort of given me a different perspective on things. I started thinking about, ‘OK, how many times do you get to go back and try something again?’ This isn’t really completely like a do-over, but there’s something about being able to kind of go back,” said Dubrow.
Dubrow admitted that she still hasn’t watched the show since she left.
“I will tell you that I am excited. I’m mildly terrified and I don’t know. It just seems so surreal. I’ve told no one … my mother still doesn’t know,” said Dubrow.
A premiere date hasn’t been released for season 16 of RHOC.
