In an emotional Instagram post, country singer Jenna Kramer announced her split from her husband, Mike Caussin.
“I’ve fought y’all. I’ve loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give,” she wrote.
In a court filing, Kramer cited “inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences, and adultery” as the cause for divorce from Caussin. The paperwork arrived following years of infidelity from him, according to People.
The filing revealed that the couple officially split on April 20. A statutory temporary restraining order has gone into effect to prevent the couple from sharing defamatory remarks in the presence of their children. It also prevents them from relocating their children outside of Tennessee.
Kramer has requested to uphold their premarital agreement and is asking to have primary custody of her children, Jace and Jolie, with allowed visitation from Caussin. She asked Caussin to cover her legal fees in the filing.
In an essay she wrote on Good Morning America, Kramer said, “The pain consumed my every thought and physically hurt me more than I thought I could handle. Thinking back, it seems like a terrible nightmare that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”
She continued by stating, “It takes a lot of courage to leave, and at times I used to think that I was weak for staying.”
Kramer and Caussin have not discussed their divorce on their podcast Whine Down.
Kramer is eager to return to her “new normal” after six years of marriage. She thanked her followers for their support and said, “I’ll always encourage you to continue the good fight, but you can’t fight alone.”
