On the June 28th episode of The Bachelorette, Katie Thurston is revealing to viewers why she allowed a previous Bachelor Nation contestant to join her season.
Host Tayshia Adams told Thurston that a guy from her past was interested in joining the season halfway through. Viewers got to see Blake Moynes come on the show, who competed on Tayshia and Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette last year. Moynes was one of Tayshia’s final eight guys.
When Moynes finally met Thurston, he revealed that showing up was the only option for him to be able to meet her.
According to E! Online, Moynes said, “You intrigued me, and you continued to, all through everything that you did on that season. Your openness, you’re bold, you’re confident, but you have this playfulness to you, and a humor that I can really relate to, for sure.”
Thurston admitted in her confessional that they both had a preexisting connection. She had trouble figuring out if she should let Moynes on the show because the guys might be unhappy seeing him show up.
She said,” I’m, like, so flustered right now. I, obviously, have seen Blake on Tayshia’s season. In fact, Blake and I have talked through the DMs. Blake reached out to commend me for my bold personality. And, I mean, he’s a very handsome guy.”
Thurston ultimately let Moynes on the show after she got rid of Thomas.
She said,” My gut’s telling me, ‘Explore this,’ and I have to follow my heart.”
After she surprised Moynes in his room, she stated, “For me, I have to really follow my gut and everything, and given where things are at and how I’m feeling, if you wanna stay, I’d like you to join and see if this becomes something.”
Moynes was happy to learn that he would get the chance to explore a relationship with Thurston on the show.
Fans can watch this season of The Bachelorette on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
