After Dax Shepard interviewed Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis on his podcast, he and his wife Kristen Bell discussed their lax policy about when they bathe their kids.
According to E! Online, Kutcher and Kunis sparked a widespread debate about bathing habits when they said they don’t bathe their kids “until you can see dirt on them.”
Shepard and Bell told The View, “We bathed our children every single night—prior to bed is like the routine. And then somehow, they just started going to sleep on their own without the routine, and by George, we had to start saying, ‘Hey, when’s the last time you bathed them?'”
“Sometimes five, six days go along. I mean, they don’t smell,” said Shepard.
The couple shares kids Lincoln, 8, and Delta, 6, together.
“I’m a big fan of waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” said Bell.
She continued by stating, “There’s a red flag. Because honestly, it’s just bacteria. And once you get the bacteria, you gotta be like, ‘Get in the tub or the shower.’ So I don’t hate what they’re doing. I wait for the stink.”
Bell said, “You’re welcome to tell me I’m a terrible parent. I don’t care. I’m a great parent, I think. I’m learning every day.”
