Lady Gaga’s former dog walker Ryan Fischer has set up a GoFundMe in an effort to raise money for his post-shooting recovery.
Fischer spent weeks in the hospital after being shot in a dognapping incident in which the assailants made off with two of Gaga’s beloved French Bulldogs who have since been returned.
Nearly losing his life, Fischer took to the road after physically recovering from the ordeal. He set off in a van to strengthen his mental health, calling the trip a “sabbatical.” After just two months, his van broke down and now Fischer claims he is stranded, broke and homeless.
He’s asked for $40,000 dollars on his GoFundMe, of which at the time of writing he has raised $4,711. Asking for the money under the tags of Medical, Illness & Healing, launching into a lengthy description of his journey thus far, and his objectives if he is able to continue. Stating, “I have a clear purpose but am at an obvious impasse. With no vehicle, apartment, and having run out of saving and surviving on donations from generous loved ones, I am humbly asking for your help.”
He goes onto explain how hard it is for him to be asking for donations but insists, “sharing your vulnerability with others is exactly when radical change begins to occur for everyone involved.”
According to Fischer, the $40,000 he is trying to raise for his trip is to cover “a van purchase, travel expenses and welcome all input on retreats for trauma throughout the country as well as queer spiritual leaders and healers, and how best to highlight and share with you along the way.”
