Ready to finally tell the story in her own light, Pamela Anderson shares her new documentary via Netflix.
Anderson announced the upcoming look into her life with a handwritten note on her Instagram, complete with a Netflix letterhead that read, “My life / A thousand imperfections / A million misperceptions / Wicked, wild and lost / Nothing to live up to / I can only surprise you / Not a victim, but a survivor / And alive to tell the real story.”
This upcoming documentary comes in light of controversy due to Hulu’s Pam & Tommy series. The series highlights Anderson and Tommy Lee’s romantic life and their 1996 sex tape scandal, but the Hulu show wasn’t approved by either party.
The sex tape broadcasted to the entire world after Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson had their safe stolen from their home in 1995 by a contractor. The tape was then copied and distributed in various forms and led to a lawsuit and scandal.
Anderson’s son, Brandon Thomas Less, will be serving as a producer on the Netflix series. The project has been in the making for several years and has been dubbed the “definitive documentary about the pop culture icon” in a release from the streaming service.
Netflix has also confirmed the project on Twitter, saying “the pop culture icon is setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey.”
