It appears Paul Wesley may need a lesson in pop culture after he confused singer Madison Beer with the actual beverage.
The Vampire Diaries star did an Instagram Story Q&A earlier this week where a fan asked if he liked the 22-year old pop star.
Wesley responded in his Insta story with, “Never had that kind of beer. But I like beer, I like most beer. Although lately, I haven’t been drinking as much beer because I’m trying to cut it out, you know?”
Fans were quick to preserve the Instagram Story and repost it on TikTok.

Beer first rose to popularity in 2012 when Justin Bieber tweeted a link to Beer’s cover of “At Last” by Etta James.

Since then, Beer has become quite popular on social media, with more than 24 million followers on Instagram and 14 million followers on TikTok. The singer released her debut album Life Support in February of this year.
Wesley also appeared to miss a few other pop culture references during the Q&A as well. According to Just Jared, Welsey was also confused when a fan asked if he believed in Larry, a romance made up on social media between former One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
He responded, “What in the God damn hell are you talking about? I believe in Larry David. Do you guys watch Curb Your Enthusiasm? It’s my favorite show on television, and I think it’s absolutely hysterical.”
