Another Royal baby is on the horizon, this time for Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi!
In a statement, Buckingham Palace announced: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Princess Beatrice the eldest daughter of Princess Andrew and Sarah Duchess of York, is currently 10th in line for the British throne.
After canceling her wedding last May due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic, the couple quietly married in Windsor in July. The wedding ceremony took place at All Saints Chapel where a small number of guests attended, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Since her wedding, Princess Beatrice also became a stepmother to her husband’s son, Christopher Woolf. As a member of the British Royal Family, Beatrice is the first of her generation to take on the role of stepmother. In an essay for the Evening Standard, Beatrice wrote, “I had the great honour to become a stepmother and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favourite stories at bedtime.”
Recently, Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, and husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son, August Philip Hawke.
Beatrice and Edoardo’s baby due this autumn will be Queen Elizabeth’s 12th great-grandchild after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter.
