After announcing his retirement from snowboarding last month, Shaun White’s girlfriend, Nina Dobrev helped him start off his retirement with an epic blowout bash!
“Celebrating the 🐐 and bringing back the 👩🏻🦰 one last time…,” the actress, 33, captioned an Instagram slideshow on Saturday, March 5th.
In a series of pictures from the previous night, The Vampire Diaries alum and the decorated snowboarder were seen partying with close friends at Microsoft Lounge in Los Angeles.
Once dubbed “The Flying Tomato,” Dobrev and friends were seen sporting long red wigs similar to the Olympic athlete’s signature hairdo from his younger days. Sharing even more pics of the epic party on her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Bring back the flowing locks to celebrate this ‘old guy’ retiring at 35.”
Before competing in the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the three-time Olympic gold medalist announced his plans to retire.
In a press conference on February 5th, White said, “This has all had its amazing glow on every single decision and every single competition because I’ve decided this will be my last Olympics. I’ve given it my all. There have been some ups and downs on the way to get here. But through all that, I feel I’ve got stronger and better. It will be my last competition. Which is pretty special, too.”
White holds 18 medals from the Winter X Games. Even though he placed 4th in the men’s halfpipe final in what would be his fifth and final Olympics, his girlfriend remained his biggest supporter!
In an emotional Instagram post, the actress praised White by saying, “I am in awe of you. Today we are celebrating you. Your hard work. Your passion. Your determination. Your talent. Your class. Your fearlessness. Your courage. Your soul. Your heart. YOUR LEGACY. “
She continued, “I couldn’t be more proud of everything you have accomplished over the last 20+ years as a competitor and the man you have become. You are one of a kind. You are a true hero and you inspire me daily.
The end of one chapter means the beginning of an exciting new one with endless possibilities. You will forever be the G.O.A.T. of snowboarding. Not to mention you are also the G.(B).O.A.T. = Greatest Boyfriend Of All Time”
