After posting a shirtless photo to Instagram in which he describes himself as being “in the worst shape of [his] life,” Hitchcock actor Will Smith is ready to start a new fitness journey, which he’ll be sharing on Youtube as a new, unscripted series called Best Shape of My Life set to air in 2022.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the series will follow Smith’s mission to lose seven pounds or more.
As stated in the show’s description:
“This new six-part fitness unscripted series from Westbrook Media and YouTube Originals is the story of Will Smith, looking up one day to find himself in middle age, rebuilding his body into the best shape of his life and getting his groove back along the way. This is the fun, funny, inspirational, wildly adventurous, and deeply entertaining story of Smith challenging himself to improve every aspect of his fitness, from agility to power to recovery and more, teaming up with guests including pro athletes, scientists and experts, and top YouTube creators.”
This new series is far from Smith’s first foray into web-based content. From his Snapchat exclusive Will From Home to his appearance on Youtube’s 2018 Rewind video, Smith has made his fair share of internet-hosted media. Other recent projects include the Fresh Prince reunion special on HBO Max, his role in 2020’s Box Office hit Bad Boys For Life, and his upcoming movie Emancipation.
In an Instagram post announcing the show, Smith says he is excited to “get [his] health and wellness back on track.”
